Other town might say they are the gateway to the North, but Conover is the true “Northwoods”. A Northwoods filled with fishing “hot spots”. Fish On! 493 Upper Buckatabon Lake and 378 Lower Buckatabon Lake in in Vilas County are teaming with Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Have a shoreluch every day! If you bring your boat to Krull’s Deer Path Resort, there is a a public boat landing on Upper Buckatabon. Your cabin comes with a boat slip so you can dock your boat at the resort.

If hunting is on your Up North list, you picked the right resort and town. Conover offers popular hunting seasons for bear, deer, duck, grouse and turkey. Thanks to thousands of acres of public forest next to the resort you can find your private hunting grounds.

It’s worth getting to know the great towns nearby too! Bumping in to a Friday night fish fry is easy – as is finding a watering hole: Discover flavorful craft brewed local and regional beers plus some of the best wines in the Northwoods.
